Moving liability and insurance coverage can be technical and difficult to understand.
We want to provide you with the clearest explanation of our coverage types, including standard coverage and any additional coverage you might need.

All licensed and insured moving companies must provide each customer with Basic Carrier Liability coverage. The price for Basic Carrier Liability coverage is set by law and is the minimum coverage that a moving company is required to provide.

Basic Liability Coverage for a local move:
Basic Carrier Liability is free and included in the estimate.
The Basic Liability coverage is $0.30 per pound per article.
For example, if your item is worth $400 and weighs 100 pounds, a mover would be liable for up to $30.

Basic Liability Coverage for a long-distance move:
Basic Carrier Liability coverage is free and is included in the estimate.
The Basic Liability coverage is $0.60 per pound per article.
For instance, if your item is worth $400 and weighs 100 pounds, a mover would be liable for up to $60.

Declared Value Coverage:
Declared Value coverage is not included in the estimate. The Declared Value coverage is $1.25 for each pound the shipment weighs. For example, if your shipment weighs a total of 1,000 pounds, the mover would be liable for a maximum of $1,250.

You can purchase additional insurance for your shipment through our partner, www.movinginsurance.com. Or check with your insurance agent for additional coverage.
