Frequently Asked Questions

01

What do movers wish clients knew before moving day?

That everything should be packed, labeled, and ready before the crew arrives. That boxes should be a manageable weight. That large furniture taken apart the night before saves significant time. That fragile items need correct wrapping and clear labeling. And that being present and available throughout the day makes everything faster and smoother for everyone involved.

02

How heavy should moving boxes be?

Light enough for one person to carry comfortably for a reasonable distance. Heavy items such as books, files, and small appliances go in small boxes. Lighter items such as bedding, clothing, and pillows go in large boxes. A box that requires two people to carry slows loading considerably on an hourly move and increases the risk of injury.

03

What should I tell the movers when they arrive?

Do a brief walkthrough covering which items are going to the new address, which are going to storage, and which are not moving. Flag any access challenges: narrow staircases, low ceilings, or tight doorways. Tell the crew lead where pets and children are being kept. Identify any fragile or specialty items. Give the crew lead the destination address and access instructions before loading begins.

04

How do I protect my walls and floors during a DIY move?

Lay cardboard or plastic sheeting in the main traffic paths before moving anything. Use moving blankets or foam padding on door frames and tight corners. Remove doors from hinges where additional clearance is needed. Do a full inspection of both properties before helpers leave so any issues can be addressed on the spot.
